Progresstech-Ukraine creates an educational engineering program available in all regions of the country
August 31, 2020
Progresstech-Ukraine will launch the engineering development program "Design and analysis of elements of aviation structures" in the autumn of this year. The new educational engineering program is expected to start in November. Training will be available to students in all regions of the country.
Given the restrictions due to the spread of the coronavirus disease in Ukraine, the training of future engineers will be carried out mainly in a remote format. It will be supplemented by classic engineering courses of Progresstech-Ukraine in Kharkiv and Dnipro, if the epidemic situation does not prevent classroom classes in these cities. In this case, the company will form three academic groups: an interregional distance learning group and two local ones - Kharkiv and Dnipro - for traditional offline training of engineers on the basis of local Progressech-Ukraine educational centers.
All groups will be recruited on a competitive basis. Students and graduates of technical and natural sciences at universities and colleges who successfully pass the entrance exams in physics, mathematics and technical mechanics will have the opportunity to learn the basics of professional aviation engineering.
Training under the new program will last 8 months. Both remote and classical classes will be held on weekdays in the evenings and on weekends. During the training process, the general stream of students will be divided into two specializations - strength analysis and construction.
Progresstech-Ukraine successfully tested the pilot version of the distance education platform back in the spring of 2020 - immediately after the introduction of quarantine measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Then, in March-May, the company forcibly suspended the classroom classes of its traditional engineering courses in Kharkiv and Dnipro and quickly implemented a remote form of student training . According to the results of the classes, Progresstech-Ukraine certified 65 course graduates, and offered 44 of them a job as an engineer.
The technological landscape of the online learning platform is based on Webex communication solutions, a set of Google web resources, primarily Google Classroom, as well as the functionality of the FreeConferenceCall service. The combination of these tools, as evidenced by the test stage of the launch of the platform, makes it possible to provide the entire complex of interactive communications that the educational process needs.
Currently, the team of the Progresstech-Ukraine educational unit is preparing for the start of a new program - it is working on replenishing the digital archive of its own online classes, increasing the number of teachers, expanding the academic plan and adapting it to the combination of two engineering training formats.
In addition to the new educational project, Progresstech-Ukraine, since 2014, has been implementing a set of targeted engineering programs.
Among them are the joint dual educational programs of Progresstech-Ukraine and KPI named after Igor Sikorsky:
Kyiv cyclical evening courses on training students and graduates of Ukrainian higher education institutions for professional engineering work;
dual master's program, which was one of the first in Ukraine to obtain a certificate of European accreditation of engineering education.
The regulations of both programs are brought into line with the requirements of anti-epidemic measures approved by the Ministry of Health for Ukrainian higher education institutions.
