The total number of graduates of Progresstech-Ukraine training programs in 6 years reached 380

June 18, 2020

In May-June 2020, Progresstech-Ukraine certified 65 graduates of technical courses in Kharkiv and Dnipro - two of a number of educational projects of Progresstech-Ukraine aimed at engineering training of young specialists. Therefore, the total number of interns certified within 6 years by the results of all educational engineering programs of the company reached 380.

Kharkiv and Dnipro courses prepare students and graduates of technical and natural sciences at universities and colleges for professional engineering work. Training is conducted on the basis of Progresstech-Ukraine educational centers, respectively, in Kharkiv and Dnipro. Classes usually start in the fall and end in May of the following academic year.

However, this year, the pandemic of the respiratory disease COVID-19 made significant adjustments to the educational schedule. Due to the quarantine measures introduced in Ukraine, the company has suspended offline courses. Instead, Progresstech-Ukraine quickly implemented a pilot version of the distance learning platform. The practice of using modern information and communication technologies acquired by the company's teachers and mentors came in handy. My own archive of online classes, created in advance, was also useful.

The distance learning platform made it possible to implement a number of interactive communications - lectures and consultations with the option of feedback to the teacher, practical classes in the format of both individual and team work on tasks, online testing and evaluation of the quality of trainees' training.

The experiment turned out to be surprisingly successful. The results of the tests and interviews confirmed the high level of knowledge and skills of the trainees. Ultimately, in May-June of this year, 44 out of 65 course graduates received offers of employment as an engineer at Progresstech-Ukraine. Therefore, 68% of graduates showed readiness for professional engineering work, although this indicator, as a rule, ranges from 50% to 55%.

Starting from the 2014-2015 academic year, Progresstech-Ukraine implements a complex of its own educational engineering programs based on modern engineering standards.

The first of them were the Kyiv cycle courses "Fundamentals of Aircraft Design" on the basis of the Progressech-Ukraine Joint Training Center and KPI named after Igor Sikorsky. Recruitment for courses is carried out twice a year. The starting set took place in the fall of 2014.

In 2017, the company launched an 8-month course "Fundamentals of Aircraft Engineering" in Kharkiv, and in 2019 - a similar training program in Dnipro. In 2019, Progresstech-Ukraine launched another educational project in Kyiv - the "Engineering Technologies" career start program.

In total, over 6 years, 200 out of 380 graduates of these training programs successfully passed additional exams and joined the Progressech-Ukraine engineering team.

Another unique national project of the public-private partnership for the training of professional engineers is the joint dual master's program of KPI and Progressech-Ukraine. Students had the opportunity to combine studies at the country's leading technical university with direct participation in the largest international aircraft construction programs. Progresstech-Ukraine enrolls future masters in the staff and involves them to work in project groups that fulfill the orders of the world leaders of the aviation industry. At the end of 2019, the program obtained a certificate of European accreditation of engineering education.
