With the support of Progresstech-Ukraine, a training program was created for general secondary education institutions
May 5, 2019
A presentation of a social educational project was held in Kyiv - implementation of a dual education program for secondary education institutions with the support of Progresstech-Ukraine. The participants of the project, high school students, presented the first samples of the model of a regional passenger plane printed on a 3D printer.
The educational and educational complex No. 141 "Educational resources and technological training" (NVK No. 141 ORT) of the city of Kyiv became the design and production base of the project. Progresstech-Ukraine provided teaching and practical classes on the technology of digital production of aircraft equipment.
Immediately after the launch of the program in January 2019, a study group consisting of 30 students of grades 9-11 from secondary schools in Kyiv, Lviv and a number of cities of the Cherkasy region was formed through social networks.
Under the guidance of leading engineers and teachers involved in Progresstech-Ukraine, schoolchildren got acquainted with the design of the aircraft, the basics of aerodynamics, methods of engineering calculations and three-dimensional modeling of aviation structures. The students also mastered the technologies of 3D printing, post-processing and assembling components of the glider structure and produced the first three aircraft models.
Currently in production - up to 10 samples of a reduced copy of the airframe. All of them differ in the number and configuration of components - according to the author's decision of each of the project groups to which the student team was assigned.
The main goals of the educational project:
motivation of high school students to consciously choose a profession,
popularization of engineering specialties in demand by the global high-tech market,
acquisition by students of additional knowledge and skills necessary for obtaining an engineering education.
The initiators of the project - Progresstech-Ukraine and NVK No. 141 ORT - count on its further development. In particular, it is planned to expand the geography of coverage of secondary education institutions. In addition, the leading technical universities of Ukraine have already expressed their willingness to join the project. Among them are Igor Sikorsky National Technical University of KPI (Kyiv) and Mykola Zhukovsky National Aerospace University of KHAI (Kharkiv).
The combination of efforts of secondary and higher school specialists and one of the largest engineering companies of Ukraine will become the basis for the creation of a unique national network program of dual education. Therefore, we will have an opportunity to form in Ukraine an effective system of consistent (starting from secondary education institutions) training of professional personnel for the innovative economy.
