Chernivtsi airdrome's reconstruction has passed state approvals

10 червня 2018 р.

Progresstech Ukraine has obtained approval following the state assessment of the firm's airdrome reconstruction project for Chernivtsi International Airport (located near Ukraine's border with Romania). Consequently, the airport received all design documentation required for preparing and announcing the tender for a general contractor.

Design services for this project were initiated in Autumn 2017, following the company's winning bid and contract signing. The project developed by Progresstech Ukraine covers:

  • Runway extension to 2,500 m length and 45 m width;
  • Apron reconstruction, including expansion and pavement replacement (concrete instead of asphalt);
  • Reconstruction of the existing taxiway and installation a second taxiway;
  • Reconstruction of aircraft parking lots for deicing;
  • Construction of wastewater treatment structures.

Following reconstruction, Chernivtsi airdrome can be upgraded to 4C ICAO code (Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation, Annex 14 Airdromes).
