Progresstech Ukraine starts work for new client, Zvartnots International Airport (Armenia)

17 грудня 2018 р.

Progresstech Ukraine has begun work on determining the load-bearing capacity of airdrome pavements at Zvartnots Airport, the Republic of Armenia’s main international air hub.

The work contracted by the airport operator includes surveying the runway, taxiways, three aprons, and other parts of the airdrome. Progresstech Ukraine will assess pavement strength and technical conditions and calculate the PCN (Pavement Classification Number).

Progresstech Ukraine will also provide recommendations on the airdrome components’ operating modes for aircraft with different ACN (Aircraft Classification Number). Our calculations, carried out by the ACN-PCN method recommended by ICAO, will help the client to optimize the schedule of current take-off and landing operations, plan for increased flight intensity, and determine whether the airport could serve new aircraft types.

Zvartnots International Airport, located near the Armenian capital Yerevan, has seen a rather high growth rate of passenger and cargo traffic. Over the past 2 years, passenger traffic through the airport has increased by 30%, and the volume of cargo transportation has doubled.
